            (( Introduction ))

India has undertaken an ambitious project for a bullet train to run between two of the country's major cities.

A deal was signed in 2015 with Japan, which is helping to finance its construction.

The project is part of the government's commitment to revitalise the country's creaking 165-year-old rail network.

In the run-up to the Indian election, which gets under way on 11 April, BBC Reality Check is examining claims and pledges made by the main political parties.

Can these trains run on conventional track?

They told Most high-speed trains to run on conventional tracks similar to conventional gauge systems but built with stronger material. The train on such a track is likely to have two synchronized engines (power cars), one at either end. Most receive power from roof-mounted pantographs and overhead supply lines. A large part of route alignment is kept straight to support high speed. Although in most countries these trains operate on dedicated tracks, many can also run on conventional tracks at reduced speeds.

Most of the material is being imported from Japan Right now these things were there which were imported from Japan.

Here are images of the first consignment that is arrived from Japan Even the Rails are also being imported from the Japan.

Will it be affordable?
